One Year In.....

One year ago yesterday, our family rolled into Salida, CO.  We were unaware of what our year would hold, and how we would do.  Below is a list of highlights - things we did / did not do, ah ha moments, funny things and sad things.
(I will not tell you who said what, but chances are you will be able to tell.)
  • snowed on my birthday (June).
  • we have such cute cats!!!
  • stuffed animals were ruined by mice - ick.
  • one broken wrist and a squished foot (same kid).
  • we haven't even skied yet!
  • came up short on hunting.
  • lived through driving Wolf Creek Pass in a blizzard - in the middle of the night (never again!)
  • it's windy.
  • our house is much nicer than we imagined it could be.
  • great people live in Salida.
  • HRCC is different than what I imagined.  Better.
  • I'm going to be in a musical.
  • I never tire of seeing the mountains.  They are spectacular.
  • four wheeling is really, really fun.
  • snow shoeing is a great exercise.
  • We love seeing the Gilmore's so much!
  • it's cool seeing the church grow!
  • I get killed in Wii, but have fun playing.
  • overall, the weather is awesome!
  • love all the sunshine!
  • it's fun being in touch with friends from long ago.
  • our friends here are great!
  • basketball, soccer, dancing, piano, AWANA, small group.
  • miss seeing family and dear friends.
  • love taking drives just because.
  • want to climb a 14er this year.
  • wish someplace stayed open past 10:00 pm other than the Vic.
  • realize that volleyball is more fun when you play with who you want.
  • camping is different here.
  • death hurts.
  • God is faithful in all ways!
  • Being alone is sometimes what we need to rely on Christ.
  • It's great doing what God wants you to do.
  • love SKYPE!!!!
  • Looking forward to out of town guests this year!
Thank you for your prayers, and for being a part of our adventure!

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
