Summer Continues

Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful season of SUMMER!  It has been an awesome couple months.
June found our family back in MN for a long visit. It was so fun spending time with family and friends.  Thanks to all who made time to spend with us.  You bless us in so many ways!

We have had the Olstads visit this month!  So much fun!  We camped, (had big horn sheep in our camp too!)  Jim, Cal and Collin hiked Mt. Shavano (14,000 plus!).  Collin and Jim made it to the top, while Cal waited in the "saddle".  Altitude can do funny things to a person!  Collin only slept 18 hours when he got back!
We had fun four wheeling, hiking, being amazed at the beautiful flowers in bloom all over the mountains, checking out the Pride of the West tunnel, swimming in the Arkansas River, and enjoying each others company!  They are easy to have around, and we sure enjoy having them.

My girlfriend Desiree and her husband and family stopped on their way home to Denver.  It was fun playing Blockus, laughing, and catching up.
Today, Jim and Sarah are in Denver at Heavenfest.  Lots of bands in one location.  They have updated me that it's hot and the music is great!
Rebekah and I went to Crested Butte with my friend Dawn and were completely AMAZED at the wildflowers.  They are truly God's fingerprints.  Not many things can leave me speechless (though I am sure there are some who wish something would!), but today's flower sightings, and amazing drive did just that!
I'll post pictures next time - but it won't do the flowers justice.
Funny note - we stopped at the Monarch Lodge to use the restroom on our way home.  It was closed to the public because of a private party.  There was a ghost sighting convention and a holistic conference going on.  We went in anyway, cuz nature calling is a powerful force.  Bekah and I noticed a sign in the hallway that read, "no nudity beyond this point"   What??????

Jim finished up his Conservation Core job on Friday.  He enjoyed working with neice Heidi - but was glad to be done.  I have enjoyed working in my "yard" and planting more flowers the last few weeks.  They have really come up beautifully this year.  We have had a lot of hot weather, and afternoon and evening rains.  Been so fun to have the screen door open, feeling the cool air and listening to the rain.  We have even had a few thunderstorms!  The hummingbirds are eatting us out of food about every two days.  They are getting ready for their long commute south in the next month or so.  They are fun to watch, and listen to.

I am so grateful that God, in all his wisdom, does not want us to go through this life alone. We are rejoicing over new births, praying for physical healing, jobs and broken hearts.  Thank you to all who allow us to walk this road with you, and to all those who walk so closely with us.
We look forward to more visits - so come on out before school and crazy schedules start again!
We'll leave the light on!

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
