FIRE!!

We had an exciting event happen in our subdivision yesterday - a fire!  

You have to understand that we live on a "prairie" of sorts.  The grasses are very dry (especially right now) and the wind really blows!  

It is believed to have been started from an ash pile that blew and grew! It must have burned around an acre.  The flames weren't real big - but boy did they spread (and right toward a house too!)

I watched from a safe distance, but was amazed at how much it moved and how fast.

Everyone and everything is fine, thanks to the Poncha Springs Fire Department!

Whew!

Dry and windy again today...  hopefully it won't re-spark!
