Jim works away every morning here in the office. Our computers are right next to each other on the desk, and I usually wait until he is done for the day to get on the family Mac.
Today we are awaiting my parents arrival from MN. We are SO EXCITED!! We did school and headed to the library to kill some time. Bekah has soccer this afternoon, and by tonight - they should be here!
Jim is actually elk hunting this afternoon. It is bow season, and he was told of a neat place to go. He left around 10:00 AM and I don't expect him until after dark. I don't know what I will do if her actually shoots something.......
We have been in school now for two weeks, and as usual - it starts off with a bang. The first couple days are exciting, then it sometimes becomes a chore - as does anything you "must" do.
Sarah is in 6th grade and Rebekah started 4th. They are so fun to have around, and I am fortunate to have had them at home as long as I have. It will be interesting to see what they choose to do in a couple years. I used to think 8th grade seemed so far away - it is coming fast!!!
Fall is approaching the mountains. Nights are downright chilly and the days are still warm. The grass field behind our home is turning gold, and they expect the aspens to be changing in the high country (that's us) in the next two weeks. The mule deer bucks all have the huge antlers (they look big to me anyway). It's a beautiful time for a visit to the mountains!!!!!!
Church has started strong this fall. We have a wonderful woman who has taken the leadership of Sunday School, and has great things planned! It's been fun to be a part of it from the beginning. I will be teaching off and on along with 4 others. We are studying Bible Basics. Great curriculum.
Jim and Pastor Kyle have agreed on doing a series of teaching - No Perfect People Allowed (yes all you Five Oakers will recognize that). We started last week, and Kyle did a great job. Jim will not be teaching, but is definitely helping. He is doing a great job with small groups too. We will officially be starting small groups this week. Most of the regular attenders have signed up to be in one of the two groups that are being offered. It's exciting to see the desire for genuine relationships outside of Sunday AM.
God has been teaching me a lot - mostly how completely dependent I need to be on him.
Change is not easy, and it's often scary (for me). This move has stretched me in ways I have fought, and yet they are the very things that hinder my spirit in so many ways. Ouch! I am grateful that I am here with family, and have made some wonderful friends. God doesn't expect me to do all this alone......
Would love to hear about how God is stretching you. If He's not - are you allowing him to??
Come visit - wherever you are!
Nancy
PS - Jim has the camera with all the updated pictures. I will update them soon.
