EASTER!

Hello!

A lot has been happening! I have been so busy I have neglected posting on the blog for a while; sorry!

I am very excited for Easter this year. Easter is always my favorite holiday of the year, Christ rising from the tomb means more to me than anything else. The joy I feel each Easter is awesome; joy not just for my eternal home, but also knowing the people I love the most are taken care of. We have an incredible place to spend eternity...in the very presense of God! Mind bending to think about!

Heart of the Rockies Community Church is doing a very heavy marketing campaign for Easter. I have attached an ad we are putting in the local paper. We are also doing a mailing to 2500 residents in the area. The front of the 5.5"x 8/5" post card says in very big letters "HAVE YOU GIVEN UP ON CHURCH BUT NOT GOD?". On the back of the post card is a similar message to the ad you see. We are praying that many people who have given up on church might give us a visit. Please join us in that prayer.

Notice our brand new logo in the ad? We have had a professional graphic designer volunteer his time to create this logo. We are going to be using it often in our marketing, and internal communications. We love it!

On a couple personal notes. We are getting our first midwest visitors next week for spring break. Jeff and Jill Anderson and their 4 boys are coming for a visit (Jeff is a high school buddy of mine that currently lives in Superior Wisconsin). Should be awesome. Unfortunately we do not have a place to put them up yet, so they are staying in a local hotel. We cannot wait for our house to be done so we can have people stay with us! Looks like our house will be done in June! Things are going great on the construction.

This past week I got my Colorado Hunting certificate. To hunt in Colorado as a resident you have to get 12 hours of class room training, and then pass a written exam and a fire arms shooting test. I completed all this last week. It was fun, and I met a couple new people. I bought a used compound bow, so when I have time I like to target shoot!

Hate to sound like a broken record...but we are so grateful for all of your prayer and financial support. Things are going very well. It is a lot of work, and it seems like there are always about a dozen more things I would like to be getting done! There is absolutely no way we could be doing as well as we are without great friends like you.

Our prayer requests:

1) The Holy Spirit would be abundant in the members at HRCC. We want all who come to HRCC to feel peace, love, joy, and truth that can only be attributed to something from God.

2) Easter. We are planning a lot of great stuff. Pray the execution is done well, and with a lot of joy.

3) Pray our house in MN sells soon. Lots of great showings lately. We currently have a couple families with a lot of interest.

4) Finances. God has been blessing us beyond what I could see. However we still need about $15,000 in gifts to make sure my salary is covered through 2009. I have not been doing any fund raising, and I probably need to do some more in the next couple months. Please pray God will guide us as we do this. If you are anyone you know might be interested in contributing to this ministry please let us know. No gift is insignificant to us! Thanks for your prayerful consideration.

Well I need to get some more work done today. Blessings to all of you! Please email, give us a call, or drop by!

Jim

The red fox was curled up under the oak tree last weekend. It was sleeping in the warm sun. Very cute! I'm still loving my job at Stepping Stones. The snow is melting and we have been going outside more. I am so excited for Spring to be here! I hope the people that have looked at your house several times decide to buy it. They are very nice. March is a lucky month!! I'm still praying for your MN house to sell so you can come back and visit while you pack up your things. Please bring Zeb. Maggie misses him the most.

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
