We have had a great week thus far. Our girls are going a AWANA on Wednesday evenings and are having a blast. That makes Wednesday night date night for Nancy and I. Last night we met another couple from church for dinner at a local restaurant; it was a fun evening. On Tuesday night I attended worship practice, it was good to get to know some more people on that team. It was also just fun to sit around and worship with them!
Pastor Kyle and I met earlier this week, it was an exciting meeting. He and I plan to meet each week for a couple hours for prayer and planning. This past week we discussed and agreed to what my goals are going to be for the first six months. Here is a high level summary:
- Focus on my Family. (date Nancy once per week, family outing once per week, nightly family prayer, personal daily devotions & prayer, one day per month a personal retreat).
 - Build Relationships in the Church. With Nancy, have lunch/dinner with one family per week. Meet with Pastor Kyle once per week for prayer and planning.
 - Inviting New People to HRCC. Our family's goal is to have 3-5 new families by June 30th. Would like 2-3 of these families to be seekers or folks that have fell away from the church. (Please join our family in prayer on this item!!)
 - Administration/Organizational Development for HRCC. Will assist or lead in getting the following up and running: 1) Elder Board 2) Financial Management 3) Strategic Ministry Teams 4) A documented strategic ministry plan.
 - Plan and Execute a big community outreach activity. The target for this event will be Non-Christian Outdoor Loving Families. More details will come on this...but this is something you can help with directly! I would love to have some of you come out and help! Stay tuned.
 - Grow the knowledge and ownership of HRCC's mission statement: "Know Jesus as Friend, Serve Him as Lord, Show Him as Savior". Having people know and own this statement is important to the future of the Church.

Please let me know what you think of the goals. We really appreciate your comments on this blog...also your prayer and support.
What are you doing this week to help at your church?
Have a great day!
Jim

Good goals. They seem very balanced and and doable. I started training this week to be on the video team at church. Not as simple as you may think. I look forward to going in am making myself more familiar with the software and equiptment. Minus 14 here today!!!
I'm off to Chicago tomorrow morning and I'll come back on Sunday by 4pm. It's for the Once Upon a Family training. I'm going with Kim so it will be very fun. All of your fliers are updated and we're praying that your house sells very quickly. Your house still looks great - all clean and dust-free. You have a nice collection of realtor business cards - you can start a book. Have a great Friday and a very fun weekend! Maggie misses you, Zeb!
Great goals. Love the order of them. I really like that there is a personal outreach goal in there. I need to look at doing this with our staff leaders and myself. Henry
What Jeremy is trying to say is that it's hard to make me look good every week.
