Jackson Visit

What a great time we had with the Jacksons!!! They made the long trip from Alabama, and were greeted to three very happy LaCroix's (Jim was working.)
They were a little car drugged, but after a good nights sleep - we were off to our many adventures!
We spent an afternoon downtown Salida, climbed/drove, "S" mountain, visited a great consignment store where Kayla tried on just about every formal dress they had - and looked adorable in all of them!
Jim and Jeff spent a day doing the ATV thing while the girls spent the day at the hot springs. All of us had a really good day!!!!
Of course there was our ski day. Sunny and extremely crowded - mainly with Texans!!!! Kate wore a lot of layers, and by the end of the day, her stomach looked like a tire because of the shedding of clothes she kept peeling off! So funny! Our family was the only representation from Salida that day, since NO ONE from here skies during spring break. We had a lot of fun, and no one got hurt!
Then there was the day that we drove to St. Elmo - an old, and very famous ghost town right here in our own "backyard". Still lots of snow up there, but we found a lake and had a wonderful picnic lunch. Jeff, Kayla, Sarah, Bekah and I took a "hike" straight up a granite hill to find the old railroad bed, and some old RR spikes, and nails etc.
To end our week - a show. The girls put four different dance numbers together, and entertained us while we munched on cheese and crackers and enjoyed a glass of wine.
The week ended far too soon, and we hated to see our friends leave. They (maybe it was us) kept referring to "the next time you are here". We certainly hope it will be soon. Good friends are so easy to catch up with. Instant familiarity, and comfort!

Rebekah just celebrated her tenth birthday this week. That's right - 10! That makes me - how old????? Yikes.
She had a very fun party today with some friends, and she mentioned how much she missed her friends from MN too. Wish your kids could have been part of the day!

This next week gets us kicked into high gear in school! Want to finish in about six weeks. We are all ready! Sarah is going to try her hand at some intramural volleyball (Mom did push this a little), and Rebekah starts soccer. I hope they both enjoy their choices - cuz Jim and I will have fun watching!
The weather has been a little crazy. We got some much needed snow here (it has been very dry) and it only stayed around for a few hours! Windy - again. It seems it has been windy all over - so I don't feel so alone!

Summer is on it's way. Check your calendar and pick a time to come this direction. The mountains are so beautiful in the summer. Stay away from June since we are planning to be in MN much of the time. Otherwise - the LaCroix home is open for friends!

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
