The best thing about the retreat was not the camp, it was the guys. I met and spent some quality time with a lot of great Christian men. I also met a couple guys who admitted they are not yet Christians, but are interested in learning more. I have experienced few settings in which a group of men were so authentic and courageous to openly ask the most important questions in life. We had many inspiring conversations and powerful prayer sessions.
The last couple weeks have been great. You might recall I mentioned a man named Aaron, who just recently came to Christ. I have been fortunate to be at several different settings where Aaron has shared his testimony in front of some non-believers. In each of these settings the non-believers were very willing to listen, and ask questions. The power of the Holy Spirit in a new believer is awesome to watch. Please pray for Roy, Clint, and Tom. Pray they will remain open to discussing Jesus Christ, and that their curiosity will lead them to the truth.
On a different topic, I have been spending a lot of time getting HRCC into Quickbooks. We are targeting getting the 2007 charitable contribution receipts out by Monday 2/11/08. Thanks to all who have contributed financially. It is humbling to us!
Rebekah got here cast off today and is doing great. She does have to wear a wrist brace, but she can take it on and off when needed. Rebekah and Sarah started piano lessons last week, they are really liking their new teacher! Sarah is going to start dance again in March. Rebekah is looking forward to joining soccer in the spring.
Please continue to pray that God would bring some new folks to HRCC. Last Sunday we had a couple new faces. Nancy connected well with a new attender named Wendy. They seemed to hit off very well, and are planning to get together for coffee this week. Nancy has always had a hard time making friends :) !
Well thats all for tonight. Tomorrow is a big day at the house. We are hoping to set the rafters and sheet the roof. The weather has gotten us behind schedule by a week or so. Getting the house completely sheeted will be a big step, please pray we get that completed tomorrow. Pray the wind is calm!
We love your comments and emails! Blessings,
Jim

Wednesday morning - here comes a little more snow. We got a few inches on Monday and Rich cleared your driveway with his snowblower. Lots of neighborhood kids came over and had a blast sledding down the hill between our houses. Last night we went to Mark's parents house and celebrated his Dad's 72nd birthday. Glad to hear that Bekah got her cast off and that Jim had an awesome time at his retreat. Nancy, I wish you would just relax and learn to be a little more friendly so people could actually approach you and then MAYBE you'd be able to make some friends. :) Yeah right. If they knew how awesome all of you were, they'd be lining up outside your door to meet you. I miss seeing you every day and Maggie sure misses playing with Zeb. Hugs!
Bekah - COOL red cast! Alannah misses you very much. Tell Jim we are talking about June. That would be fun to see you all again.
