First Day at Work!

This morning I woke early, excited about going to church for the first time at Heart of the Rockies Community Church as an employee! I had just finished my coffee and devotions when my cell phone rang. It was Pastor Kyle...and he did not sound good! He had lost his voice.

Earlier in the week Kyle had warned me that he was not feeling great, and that I should be prepared to give a 20 minute testimony about our journey over the past year...just in case he should not be able to speak on Sunday. On Friday I spoke to Kyle again, and he said he felt better and thought he'll be okay to teach. So I felt relieved! I guess I learned my first lesson in ministry...always be prepared no matter what the circumstances may be!

God is good. The service went well. My prayer is that our story prompted in others the desire to earnestly seek Gods leadership in their lives. God has blessed us tremendously, and it is an honor to share what He is doing in our life.

After the service we went to a pancake breakfast (to help support the local Christian crisis pregnancy center) with 5 or 6 other families from the church. It was a fun time. The kids got to play with new friends, and Nancy and I were able to spend some quality time with people from the church family.

So...the first week will always be memorable! Thanks again for all your prayers and support; they are truly inspirational and motivating. I am not just saying this...I thought about many of you this morning as I was preparing to speak, and those thoughts were very encouraging me.

Have a blessed week. Thanks for the emails and comments on the blog!
Jim

It still seems like you guys are just gone on vacation since all of your furniture is still inside your house. We are getting a light dusting of snow today. We had a great Saturday at the diabetes walk. I have many photos to share. Hugs to all of you!!

I finally figured out how to leave a comment. The view is unbelievable. I'll be thinking of it Monday in my cubicle. I'm waiting for God to call us out there. I'm also waiting for God to call me to get a Harley so I can "relate" with more people. It is so much fun to be friends with people like you living on the edge!

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
